Beth Lougee, Treasurer

Beth Lougee, Treasurer.

Although I personally have not been affected by lung cancer. I have heard heartbreaking stories of individuals that have not smoked etc. that are diagnosed with lung cancer. Cancer has touched my life though, my father had colon cancer and my mother is currently fighting Lymphoma.

I earned my BS in Accounting at Husson University in 2013. I have worked in the medical field, banking, public accounting, and municipal government for the last 15 years. I currently work part-time for the Town of Cumberland as their Senior Accountant. With the town, I run payroll for 100+ employees, reconcile the bank accounts, and file quarterly payroll tax returns to name a few of my primary duties.

I have been a volunteer for Milestones FCU (formally Lewiston Municipal Federal Credit Union) for the past 8 years as a member of their Supervisory Committee and more recently a Board Member.

I am also building my own Tax Prep, Payroll, and Bookkeeping Services business. I have been working with Brenda Grondin for the last several years preparing tax returns for individuals, small business owners, tax exempt organizations and corporations.

Pam Moffitt, Secretary.Pam Moffitt, Secretary

Pam’s advocacy started after being diagnosed with Lung Cancer in 2003.  She is a member of several cancer organizations and continues to serve on the AACR/ASCO Methods in Clinical Cancer Research, the ASCO Lung Cancer Guidelines Panel, National Cancer Institute Special Projects for Research Excellence, Patient Advocate to the Respiratory Committee with the Alliance.  In addition, she served as Vice President and then President of a 103-unit 55+ HOA community.

He has been the primary radon contact for the State of Maine for the last two years as the Maine Radon Coordinator.

His responsibilities in this capacity include managing Maine’s air and water radon service provider regulatory program and its nearly 150 company and individual licensees; inspecting radon mitigation systems when there is a complaint; giving radon presentations to the general public and technical training to the Maine radon industry; and answering general and technical questions for Maine residents and the Maine radon industry.

Annette Lapointe, Director

My medical career started as a secretary in Radiology at Central Maine Medical Center over 30 years ago.  I obtained my Surgical Technologist Certification in 1983 and became a Registered Nurse in 2000.  I was blessed to work in the Operating Room for over 25 years.  In October 2018, I began my work with the Early Lung Cancer Screening Program and became a full-time navigator in March 2020.   I met Deb shortly after when she offered our program a grant to assist non or underinsured patients to obtain lung screening CT scans.

My personal experience with lung cancer is losing several family members and friends to the disease after late-stage diagnoses.  Although not lung cancer, I have personally benefitted from an early diagnosis of cancer and am here to advocate for the priceless value of early detection.  I am honored to join the board and work with hospitals across Maine to help their patients afford screening.

I am involved with the Early Detection Work Group through the Maine Lung Cancer Coalition to improve Lung Screening awareness and accessibility across Maine.  This spring, I was a proud advocate at the  Lung Voices Summit to request support from our Maine legislatures for Lung Cancer Research funding.
